On Saturday, 5 October 2024, in the evening at 22:10, in Pasvalio district municipality, Svirpliškio village, on Svirpliškio street near No. 3, a Volvo S60 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 37-year-old driver of the Volvo, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.31‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. A 60-year-old passenger of the Volvo was drunk (1.71‰). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
