DAF truck and Mercedes-Benz truck crash on the Panevėžys–Pasvalys–Ryga road
On Friday, 1 November 2024, in the morning at 10:45, in Pasvalio district municipality, on the Panevėžys–Pasvalys–Ryga main road, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a DAF, a Mercedes-Benz and a Schmitz Cargobull. Two people were injured — the 25-year-old driver of the DAF (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt) and the 55-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 25-year-old driver of the DAF (7 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober.
