On Friday, 10 January 2025, in the evening at 21:06, in Rietavo municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 261), a BMW 5ER Reihe hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the BMW (15 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober.
