On Sunday, 30 March 2025, in the afternoon at 13:13, in Širvintų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Panevėžys (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 36.10), a Mitsubishi Outlander ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 76-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi (65 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
