On Saturday, 19 July 2025, at night at 1:10, in Šilalės district municipality, Girsteikių village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 222.33), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The accident was caused by the 45-year-old driver of the Ford (4 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (3.21‰ blood alcohol).
