On Thursday, 27 November 2025, in the evening at around 20:00, in Akmenės district municipality, on Nepriklausomybės al. near No. 4, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved an Audi A4 and a BMW 5ER Reihe. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 90-year-old driver of the Audi (30 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober.
