On Saturday, 27 April 2013, in the afternoon at around 11:00, in Alytus, on Birutės street, at the junction with Maironio street, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Nissan Note and an Audi A4. Two people were injured — the 70-year-old driver of the Nissan (treated as an outpatient) and a 70-year-old passenger of the Audi (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 70-year-old driver of the Nissan (36 years of driving experience), who failed to comply with road signs or markings and failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
