On Wednesday, 22 May 2013, in the afternoon at 15:15, in Šakių district municipality, Panovių village, on Sodų street, a moped hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. Two people were injured — the 13-year-old driver of a moped (hospitalized, was not wearing a helmet) and a 13-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 13-year-old driver of a moped, who committed other traffic rule violations. He had no driving licence. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
