On Friday, 24 May 2013, in the afternoon at around 14:00, in Kaunas, on Vyčio Kryžiaus street, at the junction with K. Sprangausko street, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Citroen Xantia and a Mercedes-Benz 411. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 46-year-old driver of the Citroen (24 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He was drunk (1.37‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
