On Saturday, 8 June 2013, in the morning at around 5:00, in Mažeikių district municipality, on A. Baranausko street, at the junction with Žemaitės street, an Audi 80 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the Audi (14 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.30‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
