On Monday, 19 August 2013, in the afternoon at 11:08, in Ukmergės district municipality, on Vytauto street, at the junction with J. Basanavičiaus street, a Volvo S80 hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 60-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 63-year-old driver of the Volvo (27 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He fled the scene. The driver was sober.
