On Monday, 26 August 2013, at night at around 23:00, in Šilutės district municipality, on Vytauto street near No. 22, a Yamaha hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 27-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by a 27-year-old pedestrian, who was walking at night without reflectors (light, hi-vis vest) and was walking on the carriageway where prohibited. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. The 18-year-old driver of the Yamaha had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was dark, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
