On Monday, 26 August 2013, at night at around 23:00, in Šilutės district municipality, on Vytauto street near No. 22, a Yamaha hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 27-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by a 27-year-old pedestrian, who was walking at night without reflectors (light, hi-vis vest) and was walking on the carriageway where prohibited. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. The 18-year-old driver of the Yamaha had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was dark, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
