On Tuesday, 10 December 2013, at night at around 4:00, in Anykščių district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis main road (kilometre 102.50), a Mercedes-Benz Actros 1844 LS registered in Poland ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 52-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (a citizen of Belarus) (14 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 80 km/h.
