On Thursday, 12 December 2013, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Alytus, on J. Basanavičiaus street, at the junction with Maironio street, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Golf and a Toyota Corolla Verso. Four people were injured — a 8-year-old passenger of the Toyota (hospitalized), the 60-year-old driver of the Toyota (treated as an outpatient), a 9-year-old passenger of the Toyota (treated as an outpatient) and the 21-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (treated as an outpatient).
