On Thursday, 2 January 2014, at night at around 1:00, in Anykščių district municipality, Šlavėnų village, an Opel Astra ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 43-year-old driver of the Opel (10 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.00‰ blood alcohol).
