On Tuesday, 31 December 2013, in the morning at around 9:00, in Kaunas, on Varnių street near No. 38, a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a BMW 530 and a Mazda 2. Two people were injured — a 64-year-old passenger of the Mazda (treated as an outpatient) and the 38-year-old driver of the Mazda (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the BMW (10 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed and entered the oncoming traffic lane. Both drivers were sober.
