On Wednesday, 1 January 2014, in the morning at around 9:00, in Vilkaviškio district municipality, Geisteriškių village, on Vilkaviškio street near No. 38, an Audi 80 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the Audi, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
