On Saturday, 4 January 2014, in the afternoon at 14:30, in Klaipėda, on Šilutės pl. near No. 35, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Opel Vectra-B-Caravan, a Ford Mondeo and a Ford Focus. Three people were injured — a 64-year-old passenger of the Ford Mondeo (treated as an outpatient), a 5-year-old passenger of the Ford Mondeo (treated as an outpatient) and a 28-year-old passenger of the Ford Mondeo (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 55-year-old driver of the Opel, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.97‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
