On Saturday, 11 January 2014, in the afternoon at 13:07, in Panevėžio district municipality, on the Nauradai–Naujamiestis–Krekenava regional road (kilometre 13.20), a BMW 525 TDS ran off the road. One person was injured — a 25-year-old passenger of the BMW (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
