On Thursday, 16 January 2014, in the evening at around 17:00, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Klaipėda–Veiviržėnai–Endriejavas regional road (kilometre 17.98), a vehicle hit a pedestrian away from any crossing and left the scene. One person died — a 74-year-old pedestrian (later died from the injuries). At the time of the accident it was twilight, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
