On Thursday, 30 January 2014, in the evening at 18:45, in Klaipėda, on Šilutės pl., at the junction with Baltijos pr., a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Golf and a Mercedes-Benz S 320 CDI. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 76-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (54 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
