On Monday, 10 February 2014, in the morning at 8:16, in Vilniaus district municipality, Rukainių village, on Pašto street, at the junction with Minsko pl., a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Renault Megane Scenic and an Audi A6 Avant. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 46-year-old driver of the Renault (20 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance, failed to choose a safe speed and entered the oncoming traffic lane. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
