On Friday, 14 February 2014, in the evening at 22:22, in Klaipėda, on Šilutės pl., at the junction with Debreceno street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Peugeot 406 and a BMW 530 D. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 27-year-old driver of the Peugeot (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.71‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet.
