On Sunday, 16 February 2014, in the afternoon at around 14:00, in Vilnius, on Panerių street, at the junction with Švitrigailos street, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved an Audi 80 and a Volkswagen Touran. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 44-year-old driver of the Audi (10 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.15‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
