On Saturday, 22 February 2014, in the evening at 18:36, in Vilniaus district municipality, on the Vilnius–Lyda main road (kilometre 23.60), an Opel Zafira hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by a 46-year-old pedestrian, who was walking at night without reflectors (light, hi-vis vest) and was walking on the carriageway where prohibited. She was drunk (0.82‰ blood alcohol). The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, there was fog, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
