On Tuesday, 25 February 2014, in the morning at 7:25, in Telšių district municipality, on the Šiauliai–Palanga main road (kilometre 59.90), a Renault Laguna rolled over. Two people were injured — a 29-year-old passenger of the Renault (treated as an outpatient) and a 43-year-old passenger of the Renault (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the Renault (a citizen of Russia), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.41‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, a strong wind was blowing, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
