On Tuesday, 4 March 2014, in the evening at 19:25, in Šilutės district municipality, Berciškės village, on the Kaunas–Jurbarkas–Šilutė–Klaipėda national road (kilometre 194), an Audi A6 hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 46-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Audi (3 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was twilight, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
