On Saturday, 15 March 2014, in the evening at 17:15, in Kaunas, on Demokratų street near No. 50, at the junction with Neries krantinė street, at a yard or parking-lot exit, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Jetta III, a Seat Ibiza and a Rover 416. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 73-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (40 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. All drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was raining, a strong wind was blowing, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
