On Friday, 21 March 2014, in the afternoon at 15:40, in Kauno city municipality, on the Kaunas–Zapyškis–Šakiai national road (kilometre 3.14), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Peugeot 307 and a Ford Focus. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the Peugeot (3 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober.
