On Friday, 4 April 2014, in the evening at 22:53, in Širvintų district municipality, on the Maišiagala–Širvintos regional road (kilometre 10.20), a Rover Tourer rolled over. One person was injured — the 26-year-old driver of the Rover (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of the Rover, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.82‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. A 22-year-old passenger of the Rover was drunk (2.23‰). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
