On Sunday, 20 April 2014, in the evening at 22:34, in Biržų district municipality, on J. Basanavičiaus street, at the junction with J. Janonio a., a collision while turning right occurred. The collision involved a Ford Focus C-MAX and an Audi A3. One person was injured — the 22-year-old driver of the Audi (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 17-year-old driver of the Ford, who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He was drunk (2.34‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was dark, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
