Drunk Renault driver hits a parked Opel and flees on Birutės g., Plungė
On Wednesday, 30 April 2014, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Plungės district municipality, on Birutės street near No. 22B, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Renault Megane Scenic and an Opel Signum. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 65-year-old driver of the Renault (37 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.98‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 40 km/h.
