On Sunday, 4 May 2014, in the evening at around 21:00, in Molėtų district municipality, on Vilniaus street, at the junction with Statybininkų street, a Volkswagen Golf registered in Great Britain ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (6 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He refused a sobriety test. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was wet.
