On Saturday, 10 May 2014, in the evening at 18:38, in Švenčionių district municipality, on Lauko street near No. 49, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Golf and a VAZ 21011. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 49-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (29 years of driving experience), who fell asleep at the wheel. He was drunk (2.75‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. The 20-year-old driver of the VAZ was drunk. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
