On Saturday, 17 May 2014, at night at 4:43, in Vilnius, on Smėlio street, at the junction with Šilo street, a Citroen C3 hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the Citroen (less than a year of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He was drunk (1.07‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
