On Wednesday, 21 May 2014, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Kaunas, on vandžiogalos g., at the junction with Žemaičių pl street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Opel Astra registered in Latvia and an Iveco Magirus 130M11 registered in Poland. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 29-year-old driver of the Opel (a citizen of Latvia) (11 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
