On Tuesday, 27 May 2014, in the evening at 22:45, in Tauragės district municipality, on J. Tumo-Vaižganto street near No. 128, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Renault Laguna, a Volkswagen Bora, a Hyundai Matrix, an Audi A4 and a Peugeot 406. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 41-year-old driver of the Renault (25 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations and failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
