On Wednesday, 4 June 2014, in the evening at 17:40, in Panevėžys, on J. Basanavičiaus street, at the junction with Algirdo street, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a BMW 318 and a Fiat Ducato. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
