On Thursday, 5 June 2014, in the evening at around 20:00, in Šilutės district municipality, on the Kaunas–Jurbarkas–Šilutė–Klaipėda national road (kilometre 163.48), a Scania R 124 rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 44-year-old driver of the Scania (a citizen of Ukraine) (20 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
