On Saturday, 7 June 2014, in the evening at 22:30, in Utenos district municipality, on Žuvėdrų street near No. 2, a traffic accident occurred. The accident involved a BMW 320. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 27-year-old driver of the BMW (8 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.25‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
