On Sunday, 8 June 2014, in the morning at 5:58, in Kelmės district municipality, on the Tytuvėnai–Pakapė–Šiauliai regional road (kilometre 8.86), a Volkswagen Passat ran off the road. One person was injured — a 26-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 27-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (1 year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.31‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene.
