On Friday, 13 June 2014, in the evening at 19:30, in Marijampolės municipality, on the Marijampolė–Kalvarija national road (kilometre 2), a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Passat and a Toyota Corolla. One person was injured — the 24-year-old driver of the Toyota (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 60-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (38 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.99‰ blood alcohol).
