On Saturday, 14 June 2014, in the morning at 5:10, in Tauragės district municipality, on the Ryga–Šiauliai–Tauragė–Kaliningradas main road (kilometre 162), a Peugeot 605 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the Peugeot, who failed to comply with road signs or markings and failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
