On Sunday, 15 June 2014, at night at around 1:00, in Kaunas, on Islandijos pl., a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz E220 and a BMW 320D. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (6 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 80 km/h.
