On Wednesday, 25 June 2014, in the afternoon at 15:47, in Raseinių district municipality, Daugėliškių village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 142), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Passat Variant, a Nissan Micra and a Volkswagen Passat. Two people died — a 27-year-old passenger of the Nissan (later died from the injuries) and the 51-year-old driver of the Nissan. Four people were injured — a 20-year-old passenger of the Nissan (severely injured, hospitalized), a 27-year-old passenger of the Nissan (hospitalized), the 40-year-old driver of the Volkswagen Passat (treated as an outpatient) and a 21-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen Passat (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 43-year-old driver of the Volkswagen Passat Variant (18 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. All drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
