On Saturday, 28 June 2014, in the evening at 22:59, in Plungės district municipality, on the Plungė–Vėžaičiai national road (kilometre 9.38), an Opel Vectra ran off the road. Two people were injured — a 27-year-old passenger of the Opel (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a seatbelt) and a 24-year-old passenger of the Opel (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Opel, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.95‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. A 27-year-old passenger of the Opel was drunk (2.76‰). A 24-year-old passenger of the Opel was drunk (2.06‰).
