On Wednesday, 2 July 2014, at night at 3:52, in Neringos municipality, on the Smiltynė–Nida national road (kilometre 42.10), a Volkswagen Caddy rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 31-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (11 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He was drunk and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was twilight, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
