On Wednesday, 9 July 2014, in the morning at around 5:00, in Kėdainių district municipality, on the Panevėžys–Aristava–Sitkūnai main road (kilometre 45), a Volkswagen LT 35 registered in Latvia hit an animal. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (a citizen of Latvia) (3 years of driving experience), who failed to comply with road signs or markings and failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
