On Wednesday, 9 July 2014, in the afternoon at around 14:00, in Šilutės district municipality, Švėkšnos town, on Liepų a., a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved an Opel Omega and a Dodge Grand Caravan. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the Opel. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
