On Friday, 18 July 2014, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Tauragės district municipality, on Gedimino street, at the junction with D. Poškos street, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved an Opel Astra registered in Spain and a Honda Accord. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 54-year-old driver of the Opel (a citizen of Spain) (24 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
